This is not a news site, so I'm not going to write much; but given the handful (among so many countless other) acts of violence that have been reported on recently: namely the brutal and senseless murders of a young Ukrainian woman, Iryna Zarutska and Charlie Kirk, and what happened in Colorado, not to mention the remembrance of September 11th, I feel I should offer something. I'm sure many have a lot of questions and doubts, as well as emotions that are coming into play. Myself included.
This is not a political post, simply a plea for two groups of people. If you are a believer in Christ, temper your emotions in this matter by the Word of God. Pray for those involved, and be fervent and prayerful in your work of the gospel. If you are not a believer in Jesus, know this: the murderers of these two will be judged, even if justice is not served here and now. If they do not bow the knee to Christ, then they will be condemned in eternal hell. Justice will be served. But all sinners have their place in the lake of fire. Repent of your sins and believe on Jesus today for salvation.
The "scandal" of the gospel though is that even these evil and wicked people can receive forgiveness and mercy in Christ. His grace is enough to cover all, and change a heart given to sin, into a heart given to God. And so no matter what sin you may have in your life, His grace is more! Please call on Him today for salvation.
And so no matter what sin you may have in your life, His grace is more! Please call on Him today for salvation.
These evils will not be defeated by earthly rulers. Only through the proclamation of the gospel, and the working and power of the Holy Spirit will we see a revival. Should we have laws that reflect God's Word? Absolutely! But above that, hearts must be changed. Church, be about your work of the gospel. And yes, I have to point all ten fingers at myself first.
Lastly I'll just say, the image above was taken during a period of wrestling with some things myself. And I share it in honor of those hurting and grieving. May God help you in your time of need. And may He help us and bring us to a place of awakening.
