The Glory of God

Updated: Sep 4

The Psalmist speaks of nature declaring the glory of God in the 19th Psalm. In Romans chapter 1, Paul points to what we call natural revelation. That is, that nature itself is a testimony to the existence of God.

While so many believe in an "everything-created-by-nothing world", as a believer I would argue that deep down we all know, especially when we see a scene such as this, that there is a God. And if there is, what would He have with us? Therein lies the problem, doesn't it? If He does exist, there are major implications for our lives. I'll just jump ahead with the bottom line... We're all sinners in need of a Savior. God is good, powerful, an awesome Creator, and He is holy. He will demand justice. The reality of death screams this at us.

We're all sinners in need of a Savior.

But nature doesn't give us an answer to this dilemma. Scripture, however, does. God is holy and just, but He is also love. In His love, He sent His Son Jesus Christ to die for sinners. Jesus alone satisfied the righteous demands of God's perfect justice and holiness. You'll never earn your way to heaven and a right relationship with God. You'll never be able to appease His justice. But Jesus did.

God is holy and just, but He is also love.

Bow the knee to Christ, call out in repentance (confessing and turning from your sin) and faith, trusting in Him alone for your salvation. He is a perfect Savior, and He saves to the uttermost. "For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” - Romans 10:13 ESV
