Thoughts on Darwin's Day

I didn't realize there was a day for it, but apparently today is Darwin Day, a day to celebrate the life and legacy of Charles Darwin and the principles of science and evolution.
As a Christian, I can't say I celebrate the things that have come from his contributions to science, however.
But I don't want to spend this article tearing down a man long dead. Instead I just want to challenge all of us to stand on truth, primarily the truth of God's word.
Every aspect of worldview must be filtered by that word.
We see the destructive effects of viewing this world through the lens of evolution. A rejection of any idea of God and science, which has led to a rapid decline in younger generations having any 'faith' in Scripture. Racism (not that it needed the added excuse), Marxism, and I would argue a huge rise in mental illness, based on the 'fact' that evolution ultimately provides us with no meaning or purpose, despite its proponents desperate claims to the contrary.
The proof is in the pudding.
These are just the tip of the iceberg, all because we try to explain things apart from God. It is an unfortunate series of events.
But it isn't without hope; Where there is a void, God is there to fill it.
Let us pray for our culture that we would one day soon see the demise of this unfortunate worldview, a view based on the premise that we are nothing but glorified so-called stardust. Stars are great, but I'm glad that God has valued us over even them.
Let us also bring encouragement as we confront this wicked mindset, letting others know that they are image-bearers of God.
Let us pursue science unashamed, discovering the wonders of God's creation.
Let us bring the gospel to this world desperately in need of a Savior.
