Fleeting Moments and Redeeming the Time

This morning I glanced outside to notice the sunrise. It was peculiar. Pretty, but almost like an abstract painting. The clouds seemed almost blurred, the colors serene.
I glanced again moments later, and it had already changed.
Sunrise and sunsets are funny like that.
Those moments are easy to miss, especially in this day of distraction and busy-ness.
Intentionality can be hard to muster up at times. Frankly, most of the time when things go right it, almost feels like dumb luck (I don't believe in luck, but you get my point) more than intention.
But these musings of mine really don't matter, what matters is God's word.
I've mentioned before about what the Scriptures say about using our time. That we should number our days.
But it also says that (pastors, but really all believers) should be ready in season and out of season (2 Timothy 4:2), that we should always be ready to give an answer for our hope (1 Peter 3:15), and that we should use our time wisely for the sake of unbelievers (Ephesians 5:15-16).
Do we pray for those moments to happen? If we do, are we ready for them?
Are we ready? Are we mindful? May God help us to be so that we don't miss out in some incredible moments. Because they can pass just as quickly as that sunrise.
