Some Verses to Ponder on Election Day

I'm kind of purposely not following the polling results for todays voting. I did of course exercise my right to vote today. But politics has become so unsettling anymore that sometimes it's best to not follow. It can also be a huge source of worry and anxiety, and to that I'd like to just put a few verses to think on.
"Why are the nations in an uproar and the peoples devising a vain thing? The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers take counsel together against the LORD and against His anointed, saying, "Let us tear their fetters apart and cast away their cords from us!"
He who sits in the heavens laughs, the Lord scoffs at them." - Psalm 2:1-4
"The king's heart is like channels of water in the hand of the LORD; He turns it wherever He wishes." - Proverbs 21:1
"Behold, the nations are like a drop from a bucket, and are regarded as a speck of dust on the scales;"
"All the nations are as nothing before Him, they are regarded by Him as less than nothing and meaningless." - Isaiah 40:15, and 40:17
Do I need to go on?
I admit, I get concerned (and I think genuine concern is warranted) about the condition of our nation here in the U.S.A. But it doesn't give us license to sinfully worry, or to doubt God's ability to carry out His will in history.
He isn't going to be phased, regardless of who ultimately is elected. Do we have things to do in response, either way? Absolutely!
But may we pray for and encourage one another and carry on the task that He has called us to, knowing that He is sovereign.
