The Same Yesterday and Today and Forever

Thinking about this week's theme, I had wanted to go over what I do and use as far as technology and editing of my photos, etc. But this morning in my Bible reading I was reminded of something that might be of much more benefit.

To recap the week, we started with an article from ACBC on speaking the truth in love. While not immediately evident, it ties in with the rest of the weeks discussion on A.I. and integrity by giving us a groundwork for telling the truth. With the advent of more and more technological advances, the line between truth and error is increasingly blurred. It's incumbent upon believers to uphold the truth in light of it. It's certainly a challenge, I admit.

And with the onslaught of artificial intelligence being integrated into every area of life, fear is also a potential factor as we plod forward into this unknown realm.

So while it would be helpful to share with you my personal use of technology, I think it's more appropriate to end this theme by looking at the source of truth Himself: Jesus Christ.

Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me." - John 14:6

Why? Because He never changes, He never lies, and He has overcome the world even with its current technological dangers.

"These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world." - John 16:33

And really, we also must recognize what Solomon said, that there is nothing new under the sun. While A.I. itself may be new technology, the use and misuse, the trust and fear involved, these are nothing new.

"That which has been is that which will be, and that which has been done is that which will be done. So there is nothing new under the sun." - Ecclesiastes 1:9

But God has remained constant, and has provided for His children amidst it all.

"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever." Hebrews 13:8

In other words, Jesus hasn't left us or become overpowered by phones or laptops or A.I. or drones or whatever technology we spit out next. Even more, they are subservient to God's sovereign decree. Just like a ruler is like water in God's hands, and He moves them however He wishes, so too is technology.

So as we strive to handle it as best we can in light of Scripture, we must remember that God is still on the throne. Tools like these can be used for good, and for evil, but may we be guided by the Spirit and the Word. And in it all, trust that Jesus hasn't left us.

It's funny, I realize that the way my day (and week) is going that it would probably be a good idea to use today as one of my 'share-a-post' days. This week I have been trying to stick to a theme of i
