Peru Mission Trip: Random Thoughts for the Day

Updated: Oct 15

So far, two things have really stood out on this trip. Firstly, the discussion I've been able to have with a few people. Just some good life application and Bible based talks, and I love those kinds of moments. And it does seem that going to places like this helps to fuel that. You think more on the things of God I guess. Though the truth is we should always be open for that.

But also the people here. Peru is an odd place. On one hand to those who are not accustomed to places outside of the U.S. would look and see it as being quite poor. Yet you get to know the people and they seem 'modern' (by American standards, for whatever that's worth). Nice clothes, a lot with nice, newer cars, iPhones, etc.

And please know I'm not saying any of this in any condescending way or judgmental, just as an observation that any average American might have, that has never been outside of the country.

But the people have been really nice, friendly, and frankly I've felt 'at home' with so many of them.

Yet I'm thousands of miles from home.

So it's been a strange dichotomy all week. There's much more I could probably say, but just want to share my thoughts for the day.

I'm really curious to see what God will bring about from this, and I appreciate the continued prayers. I'll share more as the week goes on. God bless.
