Distant Starlight, an Interesting Perspective

Switching things up, tonight I will share a post, as opposed to yesterday.

As we close out our week dealing with time, this particular topic may not be as exciting or practical as others, but I hope you'll consider some of what is said. That is, primarily, that God's Word can be trusted.

I'll admit, this article is really heady. And I am not sure that I necessarily agree with all of the assertions made. But still, it is an interesting concept, and I hope that it helps dispell some misconceptions, that Creationists are just a bunch of illiterate science deniers.

Science only works when we can test, observe, and repeat things. Much of what secular views in science teach (specifically evolution and the idea of "billions of years") is not testable or observable. I say this as a layman, but I believe both sides have presuppositions, and mine is the word of God.

So what does any of this matter? Well, I think there are several reasons. Firstly, God created this universe and so as we discover more about it, it gives us a glimpse into His creative power and ought to cause us to praise Him for it. Secondly, it instills confidence in the believer. Not that we should need that per say , but it certainly is exciting to hear when science and discovery supports Scripture; we must, however not put the cart before the horse. Scripture is true with or without science. Lastly, we need to be ready to answer legitimate questions of unbelievers, and believers who are having doubts.

So, again, do I agree with everything in this article on Answers in Genesis? I'm not sure, I'm not a physicist. But I do know that as we continue to make discoveries about our world and our universe, the true unbiased facts will always support Scripture.
