A Rock Higher than I

A boulder hit by sunlight, and mountains in the distance.
Not a photo from my trip, this is from Shenandoah years ago.

"From the end of the earth I call to You when my heart is faint; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I." - Psalm 61:2

I feel bad that I am rushing to get this post done, but I'm living on Eastern time, even though I am in the Mountain time zone.

But then again I'm not sure much needs to be said. It's been my first full day here, and it's been fairly busy. So I'll simply share this verse, and say this: God truly is a rock, and this doesn't simply refer to His strength, but His protection, His care.

The Psalmist goes on to share about his desire to take refuge in the shelter of God's wings. This doesn't mean that God has wings mind you, but that again, He is a God in Whom we may take refuge.

I hope that that thought will bring you comfort tonight.
