Zzz...

A sleeping dog
Not my photo. I know, but I don't have a dog so it'll work for now.

As I have alluded to, I am currently on a trip, so I ask you to bear with me if the blogs are on the shorter side for a few days. Be that as it may, I still want to share some thoughts with you all.

What thoughts you might ask? Well I'll just treat this as a check-in. Today was a bit of a haul, two flights, and several hours of driving, all on very little sleep, so needless to say I'm tired and ready for bed. Which brings to mind a verse:

"In peace I will both lie down and sleep, For You alone, O LORD, make me to dwell in safety." - Psalm 4:8-9

David knew distress. He faced overwhelming challenges throughout his life. Some, granted, were brought on by his sin. But many others were outside of his control. In both instances however he only had one place to turn, but he knew to turn there.

I'll be honest with you, I struggle with sleep. And sometimes it is because I do not trust as I ought, the way David did.

But hopefully tonight, spending this time writing this, my thoughts will be focused where they should be. I hope it will do the same for you.

Where is that? Well, to sum it up: we have a refuge in God, and in that we can have peace, knowing that believers have been made right with Him, and He loves us.
