As we celebrate this Thanksgiving Day, amidst the feasting and the family, the football and fellowship, whatever it is you find on this day, may we remember Paul's words to the Corinthian church:
"Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!" - 2 Corinthians 9:15
We have so many things to be thankful for but the greatest is the fact that God has and will continue to save sinners; and that if we are in Christ, it is by His grace, so let us be thankful for that.
Because of Christ's death, we can have life eternal .
"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly." - John 10:10
Because Christ bore the wrath of God we deserve, we can have peace with God.
"Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ," - Romans 5:1
Because Christ took on our sins, we can have forgiveness, and in turn receive His righteousness.
"He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." - 2 Corinthians 5:21
Because of Christ's resurrection, we know that death is defeated.
"But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who are asleep. For since by a man came death, by a man also came the resurrection of the dead." - 1 Corinthians 15:20-21
Because He has ascended, we know that He rules and reigns and will return one day.
"He who testifies to these things says, "Yes, I am coming quickly." Amen. Come, Lord Jesus." - Revelation 22:20
We have so much to be thankful for in Christ.
