Getting Back on Track, Part Deux

If you haven't noticed a theme this week, then maybe today's post will pinpoint that theme.
Yesterday we had an odd mid day blizzard for about two hours. The whole ground and trees were covered with a couple inches of snow, only to be mostly melted and gone just a few hours later as the sun came out. That's March in Virginia though. Did I mention the day before was 80 degrees? I digress.
Looking at the snow I certainly had a desire to go outside and at least try to take some kind of photograph of it; I haven't really shot anything in a while.
A conversation with my dad led to me taking the time to go outside and just shoot, even if for no reason other than to do it. Would I get a shot? No, probably not. But would it be good to go out? Yes.
And so getting back on track sometimes needs a push.
It can be hard though. Sometimes the chaos may not be as serious as other times, but chaos is still, well, chaotic. And sometimes we don't handle it as well as we perhaps should.
But, I went out, took a few photos for a couple different blog ideas, and came inside.
Truth is, I miss taking photos.
The other night I couldn't help but take photos with my phone as the sky was absolutely fantastic. It's strange, but the best sunsets are always at my house. I guess that's because I'm there the vast majority of the time, huh?
But, Lord willing, as some things in life settle, I hope to get out to video and photograph more.
In the meantime, hopefully I learned some lessons.
And I guess that's a big part of the struggle. Chaos comes, and we often find ourselves caught off guard, and wondering what happened, and what is the quickest way out.
But I guess, perhaps, it's important that instead of looking for the quickest exit, that we stop and see what God is teaching us. I've said it before, to my own harm possibly, that I believe God cares more about our who we are than what we do. The goal is Christ-likeness, not material wealth and happiness.
And maybe, in some small way, it helps me to define my goals more clearly.
Regardless, I hope that God will use this small website, these small photographs, video, and blogs, all for His purposes, His glory, and the good of His people.
