One of the biggest, if not the biggest issue that I see today in evangelicalism in America is biblical illiteracy. I heard a pastor compare it to spiritual AIDS, in the sense that churches can die from a thousand false teachings because they have no spiritual immune system as a result of their lack of understanding in regard to the Bible. Maybe a unique observation, but it makes sense.
As a layperson I can't say that I have the training or schooling or whatnot to confidently say that I can, in my power, do much to help the situation. But as Paul did, I can trust in the power of the Word of God and not my own wisdom or persuasive words. This is why I want to use my website and my Facebook page not only as avenues of photography, but as a vessel with which to share Biblical truth. This of course not for the purpose of just 'knowledge', but for the high calling of bringing glory to God and equipping believers to better understand Him and His word (and it's good for me to study), as well as sharing the gospel to those that are not believers, and those that may have questions. I'm also announcing that I've launched a YouTube channel! You can check that out here. My plan is to present a series of videos soon covering the most basic principles of the Christian faith. So I ask for prayer as I produce and share these. Also, I plan to do some question and answer videos. So if you have any theological or practical Biblical question, etc. feel free to send me an email through my site. I can't promise I'm gonna answer every single question, so we'll see where it all goes. It might seem odd to combine two very different passions, the Christian faith and photography, but they are indeed passions for me. I don't presume to draw a line between a so-called secular part of my life from my spiritual life. They are intermingled, and so I present them as such. Everything we do should be to the glory of God, which of course I know I fail so often... But I do hope that you will find this content to be of value to you. Thanks everyone so much!
